Fall Pictures

68 Years

My grandparents just celebrated 68 years. It was so cute to see my grandpa hold my grandma's hand and say, "I wouldn't leave here without her." (He has dementia really bad and forgets sometimes that it is him that can't go home.) It has been hard on both of them to have to stay at Logan Nursing and Rehab and even harder for us to see how frustrated they get. Hopefully they will be able to go home sometime soon.

Grandpa and Jace on the tractor

One of Jace's favorite things to do is to be with his grandpa. He especially loves to get dirty and play with tractors (or anything with four wheels). I love how my dad will take him on little outings. Last saturday they went to Logan for almost four hours shopping. They hit Petersen's feed store, IFA, Smithfield Implement and Wendy's. Dad dressed him up in cowboy boots and a hat at the Imp and said that Jace strutted around the store. He said it was hilarious. The best part was when he came home. I don't think he stopped smiling all night.

Love for Shoes!

Jace has inherited my love for shoes. Everytime I turn around he has someone's shoes on. It is pretty funny watching him stumble around in shoes that are four times his size. He is actually getting quite good at walking in them.

Happy Halloween!

We hope everyone has a great Halloween. Here is Jace in his cute little puppy costume. I can't believe how much he has changed since last year. He is getting so big. I am excited to take him to the trunk or treat. I think that he is really going to like it.

A Precious New Nephew

On Thursday, October 2nd Taitum and Jared were blessed with a new little one. Cole Jared Abrams weighed in at five pounds eight ounces and 19 inches long. He is so tiny and precious. He had a hard time breathing on his own so they put him in the NICU on oxygen. He is doing great and they were both able to come home today. I can't wait to snuggle the little guy.

Plane Rides

On the 27th of September Dr. Wood took us on plane rides for our work party. It was so fun. Jace even braved the ride with me. He loved it except that he had a hard time breathing with the wind blowing in his face. Dr. Wood even let us make gravel bombs to throw at a target on one of the run ways. Garret took some of Janessa's bombs that she hadn't used and won me a day of paid vacation. Sweet!

Sunday Family Fun

We had a great sunday with Garret's parents, Jami, Jenna, Nate and Preslie. They came to see their parents for Grandparents day. The first stop was at Grandma Webb's. After that we went to see Grandma and Grandpa Jorgy. They were all glad to have visitors. Jace enjoyed playing on the slide and driving the tractor. I was excited to have his family here for a visit.

Grandpa Spackman

Jace and I had the opportunity to take Grandma Spackman down to Logan Nursing and Rehab to spend the day with Grandpa. He fell down a couple of weeks ago and broke his leg where it connects with his hip. They are not willing to do surgery, so he has to lay there until it heals. He tries to convince us everyday that he can go home. He has dementia also and sometimes can't remember who we are or that we have been to visit him. It is really sad to see him in this condition. I am greatful that we had the chance to spend the day with him.

Jace enjoyed playing with everything in the room, tickling Grandpa's toes, blowing him kisses and giving him high fives. I know that Grandpa enjoyed having the company too.

Jace's new pictures

I am so excited to have some new pictures of Jace. He changes so fast that we needed some new pictures taken. I had Megan from work take them and they turned out so cute. This is one of my favorites.

Celebration Center

Jace and I went to the Celebration Center tonight for my dad's work party. Jace loved the slide and the candy bracelet the Mia gave him. Grandpa took the two rascals for a ride on the Carousel which they all loved. We had a fun night and he told me stories the whole ride home. I am pretty sure we are going to have to make a trip down there sometime soon so that Garret can come with us.
